John Anstey

As our agency’s captain, chief strategist, primary business development officer, and team cheerleader, John puts every ounce of his 25+ years of experience to work guiding this agency daily. He is truly committed to our mission of putting our clients’ goals first—it’s why we exist. Today John is recognized as a leader in the senior living space, and is a frequent speaker at industry conferences. Before founding Anstey Hodge in 2003, he worked in the Corporate Communications department of Reliance Insurance Company in Philadelphia, and was the Account Services Director for The O’Connor Group. A former board member of the Public Relations Society of America, John has won awards from PRSA and the International Association of Business Communicators, and was awarded a Silver Medal from the American Advertising Federation in recognition of his career achievements. John holds a master’s degree in English, an MBA from Wake Forest University, and is a Who’s Who graduate of the University of Mary Washington, where he also served as Founding Chair, College of Arts and Sciences Advisory Board. In 2023, John was appointed by the Governor of Virginia to serve on the school’s Board of Visitors.
