Senior Living Community is Treated to “Real Life Willy Wonka” Experience

When you think of gourmet chocolate, you probably don’t envision chocolate combined with barbeque sauce, blue cheese, balsamic vinegar, bacon, fig jam, Spanish goat’s cheese or port wine.  On December 6, special guests at The Farms at Bailey Station in Collierville, TN, got the opportunity to hear how a local culinary artist, Phillip Ashley (Rix), combines these ingredients together to create one of world’s largest designer chocolate portfolios.

The Farms at Bailey Station, the mid-South’s newest LifeCare community, hosted its third exclusive event as part of the Class Acts Distinguished Speaker Series (formerly called the Red Carpet Speaker Series) on December 6, 2016.  During this event, Ashley shared his secrets involved in creating some of the most tastefully distinct chocolates enjoyed throughout the world.

“Through this invitation-only event, we were able to offer our guests an an extraordinary chocolate tasting presented by the world-renowned chef himself.  We take great pride in being able to provide these special opportunities that give our guests a “taste” of the enjoyable lifestyle experiences that we will continue to offer once the development reaches completion,” according to Michelle Trammell Vincent, senior vice president of Retirement Companies of America.

Described by Forbes as the “real life Willy Wonka” and by others as the “King of Chocolates,” Ashley recently received notoriety as he was chosen as the official chocolatier tasked with preparing 9,300 pieces of chocolate for the 58th annual Grammy Awards.
