Anstey Hodge helps rural educators nationwide

Outside of senior living, Anstey Hodge recently partnered with the Center for Rural Education at Virginia Tech to create their new website.

The Center for Rural Education began as an initiative to promote gifted learning programs in rural areas in and around Kentucky, North Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, and West Virginia. Today, The Center is committed to continuing programs and camps, joining educators across the nation through online community participation, and gathering resources tailored for gifted students.

Anstey Hodge was tasked with creating a new website to enhance The Center’s visibility and its offerings while maintaining the well-established Virginia Tech brand. Features of the new site include resources to help further educators’ professional development and their goals in the classroom, blogs from rural education teachers, and a recap of the current events at The Center. Anstey Hodge developed a custom “Rural Literature Library” as a resource for teachers to offer book recommendations for their students. Unique built-in search and filter functions allow for tailor-made recommendations based on the student’s age and areas of interest. Additionally, the site features a “Teacher Collaboratory,” filled with lesson plans submitted by the community.

Anstey Hodge has been fortunate to collaborate with the Center for Rural Education at Virginia Tech to build a website that not only helps tell their story, but also helps bolster the nationwide community of teachers that serve rural communities.
