Friendsview Breaks Ground on $124 Million Campus Expansion

Friendsview broke ground on a new $124 Million expansion project yesterday morning that will add new independent living apartments and cottage duplexes, as well as additional common areas, and an updated health center.

Friendsview is a Type A, entrance-fee-based continuing care retirement community located in Newberg, OR. The retirement community is deeply rooted in Quaker values, with a focus on enriching the lives of its residents and their families, team members, and the larger community. As a result, the organization has brought purposeful living to over three generations of seniors since its inception in 1961.

The expansion and redevelopment consists of three notable additions to the Friendsview campus. The new Springbrook Meadows North neighborhood will include 14 duplex buildings that will house 28 new entrance-fee independent living cottage duplexes and an expansion to the community center.

Sutton Terrace at University Village will be constructed on the main campus and will feature a new five-story building housing 96 new entrance-fee independent living apartments and 96 under-building parking spaces.

Lastly, the Charles Beals Plaza will be constructed in two phases to reduce the disruption to current residents who will not need to move until Phase I is completed. The new building will be a four-story structure featuring 79 residential care units and new administrative areas. The plaza will replace the existing Charles Beals Health Center.

The expansion is slated for completion in May 2023. Other development team members include Greystone, LRS Architects, Pence Construction Inc., and Mennonite Health Services Consulting. Anstey Hodge Advertising Group is pleased to be the advertising and marketing partner for Friendsview retirement community as they continue to grow and expand.

Agency Principal Gives Lecture for Georgetown University

John Anstey, president and founder of Anstey Hodge Advertising Group, gave a lecture for Georgetown University’s Master’s of Science in Aging and Health Program this morning.

Anstey’s lecture was about how marketing automation and digital advertising are used to reach today’s seniors. Some topics of discussion included an overview of Search Engine Marketing (SEM), targeted social media advertising, remarketing and geo-fencing.

The class that Anstey addressed is titled “Senior Living Sales and Marketing,” and is used to provide instruction in the professional management of sales and marketing services in the senior living industry. Students in this course learn how to manage the development of an annual marketing budget, lead generation through referral development and advertising.

According to Andrew Carle, adjunct lecturer in the Aging and Health Program, marketing in senior living is a 90% private pay industry, and lead classification, categorization and management, and the application of industry standards for the ethical practice of sales and marketing is crucial to senior living environments.

Virginia Tech Students Virtual Visit

We’ve all experienced the changes social distancing has brought on us. We were happy to have our annual agency tour with Virginia Tech’s FourDesign students today. Even though it was a “virtual” tour, we had a great time telling them about agency life at the shop. Thank you for involving Anstey Hodge!

Anstey Hodge Turns Office Façade Into COVID-19 Public Service Announcement

Roanoke, Va. (April 10, 2020) – Local advertising agency Anstey Hodge turned the front of its office façade into a COVID-19 public service announcement.

The ad firm created two large banners that are visible from Exit 5 off Interstate 581 in Roanoke.

The banner messages focus on “social distancing,” including:

  1. “Apart. We Are United.”
  2. “Do your part by staying apart.”

The “Do your part by staying apart.” banner shows the Anstey Hodge logo taken apart into pieces, which is similar to what national brands like McDonald’s and Audi have done as part of a public service campaign to promote social distancing.

“We wanted to do our part by promoting public safety and encourage social distancing,” says John Anstey, agency president. “It was a good outlet for our creative team during this stressful time and we were all proud to see the banners go up.”

Anstey Hodge is an award-winning, full-service advertising and marketing firm based in Roanoke, Virginia.  The agency’s work has received local, regional, and national accolades from the American Advertising Federation, The Public Relations Society of America, the International Academy of Visual Arts.
